OUR HISTORY
Action Fabricating, Inc. was founded in 1997 by Joe Grones in Detroit Lakes, MN. Due to popular demand, we constructed a new building in Detroit Lakes (our current location) and opened a branch in Phoenix, Arizona. New equipment and capabilities were incorporated into our business, and we doubled the size of our Minnesota location in order to provide better services to our growing number of customers.
In 2007, we partnered with Minnesota Metalworks, Inc. in Perham, MN. Making Minnesota Metalworks a sister company allowed us to produce projects from start to finish. In 2008, we bought the remainder of Minnesota Metalworks and moved the business to Detroit Lakes, MN.
We opened another Action Fabricating branch in the Richmond, Virginia area in 2015. Our founder, Joe Grones, sold the companies in 2018 to Jordan Priem, Travis Stone, and Jed Sazama—three long-time employees of Action Fabricating. Our new owners continue to add new machines, capabilities, and services to Action Fabricating and Minnesota Metalworks today.
